  • It must have from 6 to 32 characters
  • Only the following characters may be used:
    • Letters: A-Z, a-z
    • Numbers: 0-9
    • Symbols: ~ ! @ # ^ & * ( ) _ + | { } : < > ? [ ] ; , . / = -
  • It cannot contain spaces
  • It must have at least two letters and at least one number or symbol
  • It cannot be your User Name spelt forwards or backwards with other characters  around it

If you are a Telecom Broadband customer you have two User Names - one for your email, the other for Internet access. Your Internet access User Name is the one that ends in .xadsl. Please make sure you enter the correct User Name for the password you are wishing to change.

Why do I need to type characters from a picture?

When you type the characters from a picture it helps ensure that a person, and not an automated program, is completing the registration form.

This is important, because attackers often use harmful programs to try and register large numbers of accounts with Web services like those offered by Telecom Broadband & Dial-up.

They then use these accounts to cause problems for other users, such as sending junk, or spam e-mail messages or slowing down the service by trying to sign in to multiple accounts simultaneously.

In most cases, an automated registration program can't recognise the characters in the picture.
